Upon completion of my BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University on Exeter in 2016 I have continued to tutor English to school-age students, specialising in GCSE and A-level. I am a DBS certified tutor, with each of my sessions being tailored specifically to the student, ensuring their individual needs are met. Session time is primarily spent analysing texts, answering practice exam questions, providing feedback on written work, and developing exam technique. It is important to me to build a strong rapport with students – highlighting the relevance between their personal interests and ambitions, and the knowledge and skills gained through the study of English. I encourage students to be independent learners and the work they do outside our sessions is key to them achieving their full potential. As a result of our sessions students should feel more confident in English, having gained a deeper understanding of the subject, becoming more critical readers and stronger writers.
